I’m pleased to announce that my recent painting, “Living in the Layers” (oil on linen on panel, 30″ x 30″) has been juried into the 2019 Anacortes Arts Festival by juror Joanna Sikes, the Executive Director of Museum of Northwest Art, LaConner, WA.

Its title comes from the poem “The Layers” by U.S. Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz (read the poem in an earlier blog post).

At the Anacortes Arts Festival, it will be exhibited (and available for purchase) at Arts at the Port, in the historic waterfront Port Transit Shed Event Center in Anacortes. Arts at the Port is considered the crown jewel of the Festival, showcasing regional contemporary fine art exhibitions.

In its 58th year, the Anacortes Arts Festival is one of the largest and oldest arts festivals in the Northwest. It has been named one of the top 100 fine craft fairs in the U.S. and has garnered top awards from both the Washington and International Festival and Events Associations.  Besides the Arts at the Port juried art exhibition, the Festival will also have 280 artisan booths, 3 music stages, 3 beer & wine gardens, and regional food trucks. Arts at the Port kicks-off at the free Opening Event on Saturday, July 27 at 6:00 pm. Please mark your calendars and join me that evening to view this year’s exhibition and enjoy wine, music and nibbles. (The exhibition will also be open July 29 – August 1 from 9-5 and during Festival hours August 2-4)

Hope to see you in Anacortes!
